AJ Pritchard, 25, and Saffron Barker, 19, went head-to-head against Amy Dowden, 28, and Karim Zeroual, 26, in a surprise dance-off in Sunday night’s results show on Strictly Come Dancing 2019. However, it was the former pair who were unanimously voted off by the judges.
Speaking on the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, host Rylan Clark Neal asked the dancing duo who they would like to see win the series.
But it seemingly appeared AJ only had one coupling in mind to lift the Glitterball Trophy – comedian Chris Ramsey, 33, and his dance partner Karen Clifton, 37, after YouTube star Saffron appeared to back CBBC presenter Karim.
Rylan asked: “I’ve got to ask the question. Now you’re out who would you like to see lift that Glitterball Trophy?”
AJ replied: “Go on Chris! Get in.”
“A huge thank you to @lukas_mcfarlane who has been a massive inspiration to me and I’m so grateful and humbled to of worked with you and thanks to @amytomtom for helping us and being the best. You two are a force to be reckoned with! @amy_dowden You are just the greatest friend ever.”
Karim admitted being in the dance-off with his “bestie” Saffron was “awful” for him.
He continued: “Your work ethic is just astounding and you shined like a star in this dance. Having to be in the dance off with one of my bestie’s was awful. @saffronbarker you know how much love I have for you. You are crazy talented and the most amazing Role model and you smashed every single dance with @aj11ace.”
He finished: “Again, thank you to all of you for having my back. Your kind words and love means so much. Sending love, energy and vibes right back at you.”
